A hallway does not need more furniture. It needs fewer decisions. Give each arrival a clear place to land, and the room starts working before anyone has taken their coat off.

Start with the floor

Keep only the shoes used this week by the door, and move everything else to a closed home. One basket for everyday footwear is easier to reset than a whole floor of hopeful pairs.

Give the wall a job

Add one sturdy hook per regular person, not a whole row of extras. When every hook has an owner, the hallway becomes easier to read and easier to tidy.

Create a small tray for post and keys. The point is not perfect tidiness; it is making the next reset obvious.
